Richard Jennings was competing at the Hastings international chess congress over new year. He scored 2.5/5 in the Christmas afternoon A tournament with an approximate tournament performance rating of 1780.
Incidentally David Fowler, former club champion at Bon Accord, is currently completing in the weekend major at Hastings.

  2. HI David, you won in 2003/4 – see https://bonaccordchess.wordpress.com/roll-of-honour/club-champions/ . I first joined the club in 2004, and I seem to remember seeing a notice on the club notice board indicating you had won on tie break.
    I can’t work out what the tie break was from the grading results though

    1. Ah – it’s coming back to me now. It looks like I won by default in the last round (Mike was probably having health problems then). And the tie break was the average grade of your opponents – I was helped there by Jonathan’s high grade. Which probably explains why I forgot about it – winning on a technicality, and not playing the last round…
