  • Is the club currently open post-pandemic?
    • Yes, we meet every Wednesday at 7pm on the first floor of 14 Rubislaw Terrace (Aberdeen Bridge Club)
  • I am an adult who has begun playing online on chess.com/lichess etc. during the pandemic, does the club provide anything for people like me?
    • Yes, there are quite a few new members who fit this profile and you are very welcome.
  • Is there beginners coaching/tuition provided by the club?
  • Is the club suitable for my child who is new to chess?
    • See answer above – this is not exclusively a kids club, it is a club for all ages from 8 to 80, and learn how the pieces move first.
    • However if your child knows the rules and enjoys playing chess I am sure they would have a great time – about 40% of our membership are kids.
    • There are some Steps training books provided for self-study at home.
    • Juniors under the age of 14 need to be signed in and out of the club by their parent or guardian if the parent/guardian are not staying
