On Sunday we beat Strathclyde University in the first round of the Spens Cup.

We played in the Dundee University Chaplaincy (https://www.dundee.ac.uk/chaplaincy ), a delightful venue made available for us by Ray Noble Castlehill Chess Club (https://www.facebook.com/castlehillchessdundee), to whom we are most grateful.

A superlative debut from both Jan and Joe who were making their competitive debut’s for the club – the first of many I am sure.

I’m told Bob held the wrong side of a 3vs2 rook endgame to clinch the match for the team.

In Round 2 we are paired against Hamilton B and will again be playing the chaplaincy, on Saturday the 4th March.
