The Inverness chess congress was held at the Chieftain hotel in Inverness from the 12th – 14th September 2015.

Callum Smith won the FIDE rated Inverness Tomnahurich Major with a perfect 5/5 score. Callum’s performance rating for the tournament was 1957, giving him an excellent warm up for the European youth championships that start on Saturday 20th September.

There were mixed fortunes for the other Bon Accord players.

Nandini (3/4) and Oishani (2/4) Dutta performed commendably in the Clach Na Cudainn Minor, but Aditya Hegde (0/3) had a disappointing tournament.

In the Tomnahurich Major Nihad Abdullazada was not particularly pleased with 1.5/4.

In the Balnuaran Open (also FIDE rated) Euan Gray had a good result with 2/5 for an 1854 tournament performance, but Neil Irving (1/4), Murad Abdulla (1/4) and Hamish Olson (2.5/5) will not look back on this tournament as a success.
